Recipes and Inspiration
Croissants are a huge hit in our house. It’s perfect because it’s soft and flaky so it’s easy enough for a child to pull apart and snack on. Our brown butter cubes can easily be incorporated into croissants. For a quick fix, we buy the “bake at home” pre-made croissants and melt 2-3 cubes and do a wash on every side and layer of the croissant dough then bake it according to package instructions.
What comes out are croissants with beautiful golden specks all over that complement the traditional butter taste with a rich subtle flavor.
Croissants with Brown Butter
This was such a treat to make and so easy it’s almost criminal. What we did here was let two brown butter cubes melt on a skillet and used it as the oil to cook the salmon. Once the salmon was cooked we removed it from heat and focused on the asparagus. For that, we trimmed and boiled the asparagus until it was crisp-tender. Then, we added another brown butter cube to the same pan and let the asparagus cook in the brown butter for about two minutes, tossing to coat and adding salt and pepper to taste. Once the salmon and asparagus were plated together, we poured the extra sauce in the pan for a rich brown butter sauce. Finally, we garnished our dish with thinly sliced lemons to add a nice kick to it. And there you have it, a gourmet dinner fit for date-night.
